FLAME RETARDANT IS STANDARD
Fire retardant to British Standard BS5867. Product will not burn or support combustion and will not drop molten plastic to the surface below when exposed to a naked flame. |
STRENGTH
30% lighter and 70% stronger than knotted polyethylene nets. The only way to compare the installed strength of a net is its burst strength for which there exists a worldwide standard for testing. Burst strength is 454 lbs vs 275 lbs for knotted polyethylene nets.
RESISTANCE TO HEAT
Melting point is 320-338 Degrees F vs only 230-270 degrees for knotted polyethylene nets. This enables the netting to be installed much closer to heaters, light fittings, hot exhaust vents etc. without melting. |
WEIGHT OF PRODUCT
Weight is 40 Grams per sq Meter vs 60 Grams per sq Meter for knotted polyethylene nets in _ mesh. The specific gravity of knotless polypropylene netting is 0.85 which makes it the lightest of all commercial fibers. |

ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES
Knotless polypropylene netting is rated as an excellent insulator which is important for installations near electrical fittings etc. |
OTHER PROPERTIES

INSTALLATION
All Invisinets are recommended to be installed using a perimeter cable made from 1/16 7 x 7 (7 strands of stainless steel wound together and 7 of these then twisted together to form the final cable). When nets have to span exceptionally large areas then Hot Foot recommends 1/8 cable. End fittings and intermediate fittings should be stainless steel whenever possible such as those illustrated in the Hot Foot Catalog. Knotless netting is recommended over knotted nets due to their superior physical properties and light weight. Adhesive applied fittings and Hot Foot Magnetic fittings (Cat No. MGT) are recommended to surfaces where no penetration is advised or allowed. |

NETTING APPLICATIONS
Hot Foot Invisinet has been used for over 25 years in bird control and is usually recommended in facilities where there are numerous places where birds can land. Spot treatment with other repellents such as spikes etc. would be cost prohibitive.
Use under loading docks, aircraft hangars, over air conditioning systems. Over courtyards, over the front face of major buildings and balconies etc.

Entries into enclosed systems can be provided using Hot Foot Zippers (Cat No. ZPR) which are color matched to the netting. For more complicated panels or to allow netting to be open and closed, use Hot Foot Net Hooks (Cat. No. NH). Entries can be large enough to allow people to enter and depart or small enough for light bulbs to be changed etc. Check our photograph section in this website for examples. |
