Hot Foot Springwire is a system of fine, nylon coated stainless steel wires which are suspended along the entire length of surfaces on which birds are landing. Hot Foot provides specialized components to allow this system to be fitted to the edge of gutters, to narrow water pipes, ledges etc.
This system is only effective against pigeons and seagulls, it does not work against sparrows, starlings and similar small birds. As with all repellents, for wide ledges it is necessary to run multiple tracks as shown in the attached diagrams and these alternate tracks should not be more than 3 inches apart. |

Hot Foot Springwire is a system which allows for the installation of thin, nylon coated stainless steel multi stranded wire along surfaces where birds are landing. This system is only designed for repelling gulls, pigeons and crows.
These wires are supported by stainless steel end posts which can be inserted into the surface either by drilling (1 x 1.25 deep hole) or by using a Stick-On-Post which is back-anchored to support the wire tension or the BIRDTRACK GLUE DOWN system is used. For wide surfaces, multiple tracks of Springwire have to be installed, set no more than 3 inches apart.
Cable: 40 gauge multi strand stainless steel wire coated with clear nylon.
Ferrules: Nickel coated copper suited for #40 gauge cable.
End Posts: 4.5" and 6" stainless steel (also 6" double-headed posts). These are inserted into a dome headed plastic anchor.
Intermediate posts (Stick-on): 3.5" and 5" stainless steel inserted into the clear polycarbonate plastic bases (PB) supplied by Hot Foot.
