Commercial Buildings

Large and small commercial buildings are a favorite perch for birds of all species but particularly pigeons, crows, gulls and swallows.
Many commercial buildings especially those in downtown areas are high rise and birds will land on ledges which are hundreds of feet in the air. Access to clean and install repellents is a major obstacle as high lift equipment cannot reach the uppermost levels and the presence of high lifts presents a problem to vehicle and pedestrian traffic during working hours.

Furthermore the visibility of traditional repellents such as spikes and the old knotted netting is unacceptable to owners and tenants who do not want to see pointed prongs on their ledges and netting obscuring the view.

The exceptionally low visibility of Hot Foot knotless netting (there are no knots in this net) makes it an ideal choice for commercial buildings and it is so light and strong it can easily be installed using rappelling and swing stages. The building below had a 30ft swing stage used to install over 400 individual balcony nets at this facility.

  • On buildings where even lower visibility is demanded Hot Foot shock track (Electrack) is also easily installed on a small swing stage.

  • On buildings where even lower visibility is demanded Hot Foot shock track (Electrack) is also easily installed on a small swing stage.

  • Where pigeons and gulls are a problem and an even lower visibility system is demanded then Hot Foot will recommend its “springwire system” as shown below.

  • The presence of Springwire to repel pigeons is almost invisble on this advertising .

  • Set against the backdrop of beautiful San Francisco, Springwire was installed to protected against very large gulls at Alcatraz.
